TBE #8: Gomos Unite!

20060902_1
TBE #8

Gomos are geek-homosexuals, thus gomo. Alden, from Secret Simon, and I are big gomos and so we only thought it was natural that we get together and chat. Alden is also the talented guy who drew the likeness of me in the Elroy getup that you see at the top of my site. We talk about Transformers, 8bit art, the importance of playtime in molding children, and lots of other stuff that is geeky to some, but important to us.

Please, please, please go check out Alden's site and his amazing sketches too! This episode's podcast artwork is by Alden and is entitled "The Aquestrian."

Hi, Adam--glad you enjoyed my use of the old "dropping the beads until the whole necklace is in the floor" comment on Darin's blog. Amazing how gay culture has changed!

I guess I would have to come out and self-identify as a gomo too.

Consistantly, we are trying and complaining about being 'labeled'.

Aren't we trying to get rid of labels?

Yet, you insist on inventing more -

Is Gomo is the urban dictionary?

Also, can you label yourself? I don't think it works that way - or perhaps it does.

JayT you should ask to be on Ragan's show and discuss labels with him.

Discuss labels with Ragan? Don't you mean start a topic and have Ragan go on and on about it while you just sit there? You are such a nerd! I did enjoy the show though. However, I kept wanting to know more about "Simon". There was much to be said in re personal history I would imagine, but perhaps the mum was at his request or at your indulgence of not filling us in. Effortless, yes, but maybe you could have told us just a wee bit more.

OK, I'd crawled into bed and was playing my DS while listening to this show, so had to comment that I'm so glad to hear other people are similarly as sad as me :D
Ico was great, but shadow of The Colossus - played through more of an obligation due to it's tenuous link with Ico.
I'm not a gomo though! (I'd have to learn some HTML first!)

I'm just glad to find other folks that play videogames still. I started to think that I was pretty much the "wierdo" because I own the PS2 and Gamecube (and soon the Wii!!).

Brilliant listening to you two! I guess I'm not the only one that still loves his toys :)

That was such a fun flow show. All the classic game console talk brought back memories.

My younger bro swiped all the Nintendo and Atari consoles and games and toys while I was a way in college (damn him;)... but we can still play the classics when I visit him :-)

Ohh, I think he still has the original NES ROB the robot with those spinning spining tops. I wonder if it still works...
