TBE #40: Waffles and such
A phone conversation with one of my favorite blogger pals, Kalvin, from Hellow Waffles. This podcast has been a long time coming, I've been meaning to have Kalvin on for a while. We run the gauntlet as we talk about the art over my bed, to the destruction of the gayborhood, to food, to plastic surgery, to meeting people on the internet, to secret lives. I can't believe I said "hexagonal shaft" in this podcast.

It was nice to hear what Kalvin's voice sounds like.
Chicago's gay neighborhood has been totally gentrified too, to the point that I think it's more yuppy than gay. Andersonville is more a more affordable neighborhood and it's starting to emerge as the new gayborhood.

I've been to the Rothko thingy. Instead of meditating I was thinking how much I wanted to make out with the guy I was with.

Great podcast, guys. I believe that as gayborhoods get displaced, they will just pop up somewhere else. But, gays are the biggest perpretrators of gentrifying other 'hoods, so perhaps what goes around comes around.

Great to hear you and Kalvin. I do NOT have a paysite! I give out all my junk for free! I'll even put my junk in your face for free! I am just NOT a good entrepreneur!

That was an interesting point you guys brought up, gay racists. It is an issue that I have come across recently on another blog....sweeping generalisations about people of a different race and religion.
For some reason I made the generalisation that being gay predisposed you to the reality that everyone is unique and that such sweeping statements about people are nothing but prejudice.
Borg Queen is scary, I am going to have nightmares. :(
