Amy Sedaris in Dolly's new music video, GOLD!
I love Dolly's bluegrass album "Little Sparrow" and I'm not typically a fan of mainstream country music but I think I'll give this album a try. The only mainstream country album I own is "Taking The Long Way" by the Dixie Chicks (I also own "Van Lear Rose" by Loretta Lynn but that's not mainstream is it?). I bought it out of solidarity because of the song "Not Ready To Make Nice" but I wound up liking the whole album. In any case I'm eager to hear Dolly's cover of the Fine Young Cannibals song "She Drives Me Crazy," the preview on iTunes was very enticing.
I love Dolly and her bluegrass roots! I love her color of Collective Soul's "Shine" myself, but that whole album rocked!

Little Sparrow is one of those hidden gems not many know about. It's probably one of Parton's best albums. My friends laugh at me when they see that every song on the album made it to my Ipod. Yeah it's twangy, but it flows well and tells a great story.

I rather like this song. And I like the "jesus and gravity" song that she did on American Idol.

Dolly has always been one of my faves. "You're the Top" is my favorite track on the Little Sparrow disc. Cole Porter a la bluegrass...who knew?
