Silence of The Lambs used to be my favorite movie, but after tonight There Will Be Blood has taken that position. I loved it. Best movie I've seen in a really long time.
So excited for this movie! I love Indiana Jones. I remember one Christmas being so jealous of my older brother Mark when he got an Indiana Jones fedora (made by Stetson). God, I wanted one so bad and I used to sneak into his room and put it on for seconds at a time for fear of being caught.
Also, I just love saying the title of this new movie. Say it with me, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!!
Godfather 3 was on the TV in front of the bike I was on at the gym today. Admittedly it is the bastard child of the trilogy (namely because of the lousy acting of Sophia Coppola IMO), but it was the last scene of the movie, just enough left to enjoy for my cardio work out. With the background of the various top forty remixes playing on the sound system at the gym it was fun to watch for twenty minutes. I particularly enjoy Talia Shire poisoning her godfather with the cannolis and Don Lucchese getting stabbed in the throat with his glasses (that was one resourceful assassin).
Then I got to thinking - and I'm sure this question has been posed before, but it was new to me: If you put the two most famous fictional mob wives, Kaye Corleone and Carmella Soprano, into a ring together to hash it out, which one would come out on top? Both of them have demonstrated that they posses formidable pent up rage.
Kaye in Godfather 2 with her brazen admission that she aborted Michael's son - going so far to brand herself as the child's murderer.
Carmella demonstrating that she has limits when it comes to Tony's philandering and that she too has had extra-marital interests.
Although I love Lorraine Bracco's character in Goodfellas, her character ultimately became a coke head and was disqualified from this match up (This is a classy hypothetical match up). Besides, Henry Hill (her husband) wasn't even Italian and they went into the witness protection program.
Brad has his money on Kaye - he loves it when she says "I'm so sick of this Sicilian thing." He even wishes he had reason to use that line on me occasionally.
I think I'm going to agree with Brad and go with Kaye. Although Carmella seems pretty formidable she did get back with Tony quite quickly and that is a big weakness in my book Also, aborting your son to make a point to your husband about how unhappy you are with him is pretty damn extreme.
