Dorothee, my friend and cubicle mate, put a lovely heart shaped post-it note on my computer at work.

I don't thinks she's aware of the irony in the statement on the post-it note, it's a great example of "lost in translation." In any case, it makes me chuckle and my computer wears it well.

Didn't feel like working this morning when I sat down at my desk so I made a photo collage with Comic Life instead.

Proof

Between incubations today I was wasting time on Wikipedia and reading the entry for Oprah. It's long, bloated, and full of success. I'm repulsed by her influence and prosperity, and at the same time fascinated by it.

I was telling Dorothee, my cubicle mate, about how Oprah did a show about mad cow disease and made a comment about not eating a burger ever again. The next day beef prices plummeted, the beef industry lost $12 million, and Oprah was sued for saying damaging things about the cattle industry (the cattle industry lost the case). I solicited Dorothee to join me in my wonder and said, "Isn't it amazing how influential she is."

Too which she replied, "No, it just proves that people are stupid."
